We Are Go!

Frynge will be flying out to Washington on Saturday July 30th. I just need to reserve a U-Haul for our return trip, and everything will be in order.

I certainly HOPE they offer shorter rental periods than the six-day default they're showing on the website, though. I hadn't expected to pay four figures... >.

Yeah, I had a similar shock when I looked into getting a UHaul for my move from MA to CA. They want to know where you're going, and then they choose a rental time period that's rigid... they don't want you speeding. They don't return any money if you give the truck back early. It pretty much just costs a ton to move from coast to coast :o

Yes... there's no real easier way to do it. We probably paid $400 in gas this trip, plus $400 to mail a bunch of stuff... and then food, hotel stays (we lucked out and only needed one), etc. You can't even do it yourself. :(

Don't forget to price around, though. U-Haul, Budget Rent-A-Truck, I even think many car rental agencies (Alamo, Hertz, National) have truck rentals now... you can probably bounce around for a better price.

Yeah, I checked Budget last night and can do better with them. $700 is still a bit winceworthy, but not nearly as heart-attack inducing as $1k.

Jebus, the 30th of the month? That's pretty fast.

Have you talked to Ginger yet?

Man, I gotta figure out about cancelling utilities there, too.
